Bikeability is the governments new National Standard for cycle training and replaces the old Cycle Proficiency. The training focuses on developing practical and real world skills to make cycling on roads a safe enjoyable experience and is delivered by our qualified and experienced cycle instructors.
There are 3 levels of awards from learning basic techniques to building confidence and know-how on how to deal with all kinds of road situations.

Tri-A-Sport introduced Bikeability cycle training to Norfolk schools in 2009 and since then we regularly take more than 800 children a year through to completion of level 2.
Bikeability is fully funded via the School Sports Partnerships for children in years 5, 6 and 7 and helps ensure that the next generation of cyclists grow up to love cycling for fun, fitness and for getting around.

We know that children want to take part in more activities with their families and there is no better family activity than cycling.
We want to reach out to all members of the community and to help parents feel more confident about letting their children use their bikes for getting to school and as a recreational leisure activity.

Level 3 is for young people aged 13+ and adults. The training is delivered on a one-to-one basis to develop safe riding practices and skills. We look at each individuals regular riding routes from home to school/ work to ensure they can undertake these with confidence. Can be included as a wider ride to work/ school scheme for staff.
For high school students, level 3 is usually fully funded via their School Sport Partnership.
